i Think the best way to how to prune peppers is shown in the video
When your pepper plants start to flower (I always remove first flowers )
Remove everything below them.
Keep the Y shaped branches at the top ! These sould be your Primary Branches. The fruit on Primary branches is always of great quality but less in quantity.
As soon as the Primary shoots start to flower and.cut the top.
Now the plant won't grow taller and will start to give out secondary shoots. The fruit on secondary shoots is more in quantity but quality is compromised a little bit.
If you dare cut the tops of secondary shoots once they bear 8 to 10 sets of roots ! The tertiary shoots will appear ! You would have 10 to 15 pounds of food (5 to 7 kgs ) on one plant , no matter what kind of pepper that is !
I always grow fruit on tertiary shoots.
Each time you prune peppers , the plant stops growing for almost two weeks , so having food on tertiary shoots one needs to be patient , cuz your fruit would be delayed at least 6 weeks .
